Hi Gerd,

Thanks! This was an excellent review of Shozu's mobile application.

However I use PixSense for moblogging and I'm extremely happy with its performance. One of the outstanding features for me in PixSense is the way they categorize and organize my collections on the device as well as on the website.

With respect to transfer speed and filesize PixSense uses a compression technology that compresses the file on the device by 50-60% before transferring. So users end up spending less using PixSense for photo, video and text upload than with other moblogging applications.

They've been churning out software upgrades pretty frequently and it keeps getting better with every new version. Why don't you try it out (http://beta.pixsense.com) on your Nokia 6630 and see if you like it.

Check out some of these links from users posting videos:

http://www.flickr.com/tools/lifeblog/

It is a slightly different beast, though based on the same open protocol. Works best from the new set of Nseries devices (N72, N73, N93) posting straight from the Gallery app, though should work from Lifeblog app too.

Thanks Dan for pointing out the inaccuracies wrt. lifeblog. Most of my attributions date back to version 1.0 of lifeblog. Maybe i should give version 1.5 lifeblog a try.
But as i understand it, blogging to flickr is a different beast than lifeblog and will be available only on Series 60 3rd Edition? Is this right?

My homegrown script is rather dated now, but I continue using it because I'm yet to see another system that can post to a LiveJournal community rather than the primary journal. Even Nokia's LifeBlog, which can post to any Atom enabled journal, only posts to primary.

"...which belongs to SixApart, so is hardly not a “Nokia Lifeblog community” as you describe it, in fact such a thing does not exist."
should of course read:

A very thorough review of Shozu's excellent moblog application!
I just thought I'd mention a couple of innacuracies with the way you described Nokia Lifeblog.
Firstly, it's not really fair to call Nokia Lifeblog a walled garden: it has an open Atom posting protocol which is published on the Lifeblog website. The inital compatible service was Typepad, which belongs to SixApart, so is hardly not a "Nokia Lifeblog community" as you describe it, in fact such a thing does not exist. This week, Nokia launched blogging to Flickr. There are also other local services e.g. in Asia, which publicize their own Lifeblog-compatible blogging services.
Also, you don't have to use the PC application: it's a good way of storing your personal content, but the mobile app works fine on it's own.
Cheers,
Dan (Nokia)
