So, newspapers start suing each other over linking

GateHouseMedia is sueing the New York Times Company for taking headline and ledes and deeplinking to their hyperlocal sites in the various boston.com hypelocal sites. See e.g. GateHouse story and the version of boston.com. (via PaidContent and Buzzmachine).

Luckily the situation has been settled in Germany a long time ago (September 2003) with a supreme court ruling, the so called “Paperboy”-Urteil. It was ruled that these practices are legal :-)
